LEXX BY Shawn Duncan (eGarage) shawnduncan@altavista.net A.Description B.Installation C.Credits Description: This theme was ceated with two very valid suggestions in mind. The first was sent to me by PaKRaT.He mentioned that there was no room in my themes for end users to customise to fit their needs. So I`ve included a "Button box" that can be hidden with ten user definable shortcuts. The second suggestion comes from the post in the Darkstep digest by none other than Bob Wells, in which he laid out what I agree is a simple, usable standard for theme distrobution. To this end, this theme and installation is (if I understood correctly) fully "Wells standard" compliant. Installation: 1.Back up your step.rc and modules.ini files.Do it and do it now! 2.Take the step and modules files from this theme and place them in your Darkstep dir. 3.Put the folder named "Lexx" in C:\Darkstep\Themes\ 4.Put the contents of the folder named "Modules" in, yep you guessed it, C:\Darkstep\modules dir. *NOTE* If you already have these modules and don`t want to overwrite them,Bob Wells also suggested in the post to rename them to include version number.(Just don`t forget to reflect this in your Darkstep configuration) 5.Throw the .wav file in your Darkstep dir. 6.In this .zip is a .reg file named "Lexx.reg". Just double click on it to add to your registry. 7.Restart your box. 8.O.k. now that your up and running, lets see about those extra buttons. Up top is a shortcut to open the step.rc. Scroll almost to the bottom. You will see a section named "User Definable buttons". The first thing you`ll want to change is where it says "Empty".Change this to describe what action the shortcut will do(IE,Notepad,etc.). The second thing to change is at the end of each entry. Where it says "!none" change it to whatever action you like (!about,!Banglist, etc.) The box starts out hidden and can be toggled using the button to the right of the window manager. 9.Put the folder named "Syslexx" in your Sysmeter\skins\ dir. Credits: Fahim. For his tireless and seemingly endless efforts to make Darkstep an awesome shell. Bob Wells. For his constant work in bringing us all the best in Darkstep news and info as well as his ideas on standardizing theme layouts. All the hyper-clever module coders. I never really appreciated the amount of work involved in shell/module building untill I picked up a few books on C/C++ at barnes & Noble. You guys ROCK.
